What better way to prepare for back to school than to become educated on how to sustain our planet, our community and ourselves. Today the Belafonte Tacolcy Center in conjunction with Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden and Urban GreenWorks will host a GreenFest. Everyone is invited to come out to this free event which will have activities for all ages. There will be demonstration, free giveaways that will include fruit trees, school supplies and health screenings. What a great way to spend a Saturday, enjoying arts and crafts with the kids and enriching your mind on the virtues of sustainability. Metaphysically speaking it will be an awesome gathering to uplift and inspire. The raised bed demonstration will teach you how to grow your own herbs and veggies, a great way to eat healthy, save, and connect with Mother Earth.
There will also exhibits by earth-friendly organizations and local vendors, and a community panel discussion on food security & food justice. The Permaculture Miami(Sustainable Design) team will be there and they know their stuff! Plenty of food, entertainment and free parking. Time is from 10am-2pm…
